A MESSAGE FOR OUR GUESTS - We're Good to Go!

Covid-19 has changed the way everyone is thinking about travel, and we want to reassure you that here at Birdwatching Trips we are doing everything possible to minimise the impact on you and your travel plans.

Going forward, we are monitoring the situation accross the country very closely. We receive regular updates from the English and Welsh Governments and relevant tourism bodies to make sure that we are up-to-date with the very latest situation regarding restrictions still in place and the ‘locklifting’ process. We have been granted the Good to Go certification by Visit Wales in recognition of the fact that we are following Government and industry COVID-19 guidelines.

We continue to review our proposed tours which we prioritise by date of departure and our guests can expect regular messages from us advising them of any developments. Where it is permitted and it is safe to do so, we will aim to run our Birdwatching Trips. And we will be running them with even smaller groups than we usually do to allow plenty of space for social distancing on the tour, so you will have an even more exclusive experience when you join us for a Birdwatching Trip.

If it is not possible to run a tour because of Covid-19 restrictions, we will be in contact with our guests as soon as we know to discuss the options. Any payment for a tour that is cancelled by us because of Covid-19 restrictions, will be refunded in full. Thanks very much to you all for your continued support,

Alan and Ruth

Join Alan Davies and Ruth Miller for the best small group guided birdwatching trips in the UK, Europe and beyond!

Whether you want to join a small group birdwatching tour with a maximum of six participants or prefer a private escorted birdwatching trip tailored just for you, we can offer you the perfect guided birdwatching tour. If you don't see exactly what you are looking for here, please contact us by email here info@birdwatchingtrips.co.uk and let us put together a special birdwatching itinerary that is custom-made just for you.

What makes us different?

We have two guides on most of our UK tours, so a maximum three-to-one guest-to-guide ratio, and three guides on most of our overseas tours so an even better guest-to-guide ratio of two-to-one. Very few companies can offer this amazing level of customer service and attention to detail. It means we can do our utmost to ensure each and every guest has the very best experience, and just as importantly, it gives us the flexibility to really take care of you in the unlikely event of illness or accident. We have the personnel to look after you, while ensuring the rest of the group continues to enjoy their birdwatching.

We are fully compliant with the Package Travel Regulations 2018 and use specialist lawyers to the travel industry to ensure this is the case. We have Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance and Financial Insolvency Insurance to protect both you and your money. We only recommend bonded airlines to book your flights with, again ensuring you are protected. If you are comparing Birdwatching Trips to other bird tour companies, please check the guest-to-guide ratios on their tours and if they have the correct legal protection in place. Many do not, putting you and your money at risk in these uncertain times.

Another aspect of our tours that sets us apart from other tour companies is that we always provide our guests with good quality accommodation and enjoy great food on all our tours! You will stay in lovely places wherever possible, and enjoy delicious and regular meals. Not for our clients the experience of sitting in a steamed-up minibus while you eat supermarket sandwich and call it lunch! We never forget that you are not just on a Birdwatching Trip, you're on holiday too, and we know that lovely accommodation and delicious food are an important part of the whole experience. Of course, we know that by making sure that you're well-rested and well-fed throughout the tour, you can really enjoy all the birds when you see them.

We also have a vast experience of birds, birdwatching, guiding and travel behind us. As two world record-breaking birders, there are very few people who can come close to the amount of bird-related travel that we have been lucky enough to enjoy. All this experience comes in to play when we plan our tours and ensure that our tours run smoothly wherever we may be in the world. Over many years we have built up an enormous number of trusted friends and contacts all over the globe that we know we can rely on to help us in all sorts of ways should the need arise. When you're travelling with Birdwatching Trips, you are engaging with a whole community of bird-loving amazing people all around the world!
