Day Five Best Of North Wales Five Day Tour 2 March 2022

We enjoyed super views of Black Guillemots at the Great Orme.
A rather damp end to our five day Best of North Wales Tour with heavy rain much of the day but we kept going. At the Great Orme we had wonderful views of a pair of Black Guillemots on the sea just below us such smart birds. We also watched two Peregrine Falcons on the cliffs above us and had frame filling views of the awesome birds.
With rain still coming down it made sense to head for a hide so that it what we did, Aber Ogwen, where the hide overlooks a pool on one side and an estuary on the other. Sadly not many birds about as it was very high tide and the pool also had very high water level due to a block sluice-gate. But we managed to enjoy birds of course including our best looks at Goldeneye, and super close views of Siskins on the feeders here.
Then it was back to the hotel for a lovely lunch before saying goodbye to the group. A really wonderful five days full of brilliant birds and so lovely to share it all with such great company. Huge thanks to Keith, Angela, Gill, Alison, John and Nigel for making it such a fun trip and we look forward to enjoying more birds together.
